City Involvement

My desire to serve as a member of the Westlake Village City Council is a natural extension of my long term service to our community.  I have a proven track record of community involvement in Westlake Village.  I am in my seventh year as a member of the Cultural Recreation Advisory Board, where the board members and I work directly with City Council members and staff, and have front row knowledge of current issues in our city.  I also served on the Campaign Steering Committee for the Westlake Community Park, and have stayed involved as the Park has been built and opened to the public.  When my children attended White Oak Elementary, I was an active board member of the Parent Faculty Club, raising funds and managing events to raise money to provide White Oak students with music, art, computer and sports programs.

Community Volunteer

My volunteerism extends beyond City activities.  I was a Westlake Baseball board member for four years, where I managed a large children’s baseball league.  I continue to be active in youth sports in my volunteer role as a PONY Baseball Director, managing and assisting over 32 different baseball leagues in the Southern California area.  I brought my extensive organizational and administrative skills to these organizations, helping them to provide a positive sports experience to children of all ages.  I also served as a member of the LVUSD Curriculum Committee, and my daughter and I enjoy volunteering throughout the Conejo Valley as active members of National Charity League.

Successful Advocate and Negotiator

I am a licensed California attorney.  I am a skilled negotiator, with an extensive knowledge of California and local law.  I know how to get business accomplished through consensus building and cooperation, essential skills in running our City government.

I also served as the Development Director for a small private school, where I tripled the fundraising revenue during my tenure there.  I am experienced in implementing budgets, managing volunteers and planning and executing events and projects of all types.

I am Committed to Our Community

I am committed to preserving our unique and beautiful community here in Westlake Village.  My family and I are very fortunate to make our home here, and in recognition of the privilege of being a Westlake Village resident, I have committed much of my time to giving back to our community.  I have demonstrated that I can make a difference, and am a concerned, active Westlake Village citizen.  As our community moves forward into the future, I will work to ensure that public safety, fiscal responsibility and the quality of life in our community remains high for our current and future residents.

Please vote for Kelly Honig for Westlake Village City Council.
